The August full moon was known by some native north American tribes as the “Sturgeon Moon”. However the Dakotah Sioux knew it as the “Moon When All Things Ripen”. After 30+ years of this nonsense, I’m feeling pretty ripe myself.

This is one of only 18 days each year when my wife, Fondlit, is older than I. Make sure to remind her. Then duck.

Start of run: Waterworks Mall (https://www.google.com/maps/search/waterworks+pittsburgh/@40.4885075,-79.8878355,17z)

Exit 8 off Rt 28 (Fox Chapel exit). Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and then right on Freeport Road. The shopping center begins just past the Get Go.

Drive around the back, behind Club One and Radio Shack, just east of Walmart. Park in this area.

Because I’d rather party than run, trail will be reasonably short, with plenty of opportunities for short-cutting. Get your serious Sunday exercise somewhere else. Then come hashing and enjoy yourself.

Fondlit (aka Judi), has agreed to make her ever-popular jambalaya to go along with the burgers and hot dogs. Speaking of dogs, please leave yours at home.

Apres directions for r*nners: Go left on Freeport Road to Fox Chapel Road, then see below.

Apres directions for pimps: Exit 8 off Rt 28 (Fox Chapel exit). Turn left at the bottom of the ramp and go approx. 1.8 miles to traffic light by the Presbyterian Church at the top of the hill.

Turn right at the light onto Field Club Road and park in the church parking lot.

Walk out the back of the parking lot onto Springhouse Lane.   Follow flour.

Noah’s house is the 6^th on the right counting from the corner of Fox Chapel Road and Springhouse Lane.

Warning: Speed limits are often strictly enforced along Fox Chapel Road.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair. And your jambalaya jones.
