Oct 17 @ 7:00 am – Oct 18 @ 5:00 pm

Hash #1936q – Have a BASH at Larry’s Place

Hare: Crack Filler
Location: Lawrenceville (run start to be mailed to you)

We’re changing things up: this week’s trail will be a quarantine-style BASH (Bike Hash).

Trail will be mostly road, paved trail, and some sections of gravel.
NO singletrack or rail road ballast, so most any bike should be suitable.
NO monster hills.

If you sign up for an 11 AM or later slot, we’re going to make life easier on you: the three Beer stops will be located close to places where you can buy a beer to go. So: no need to weigh yourself down with beer while doing the trail! When you reach a BB mark (BB = “Buy Beer”), take that to purchase a single beverage as it means you’ll be coming up on a B (Beer Stop) soon.

This will be a Q-style hash, sign up for a time slot here: https://forms.gle/fbttzGAMM7YPr1Js7

Check what slots are already filled here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b5OOp8rJoB-GgiMOD-i7O-Vlt6ApjfnKQOsoU_GYjvw/edit?usp=sharing

We are generally recommending that people sign up with a buddy (or your Quaranteam pod) for safety purposes. PLEASE KEEP YOUR QUARANTEAMS TO 8 PEOPLE OR LESS!

If you want to participate but don’t have a friend, reach out to F. Stik, the Hare, or Pittsburgh MisMan and we’ll do our best to hook you up.

OVERARCHING DETAILS On Hashing with PGH H3 during the Q
——
Pittsburgh Hashers!

The Pittsburgh H3 MisManagement met last week and made the decision to resume hashing, but in a socially distanced way. Hares will set a trail and monitor when people are hashing, hounds sign up for a starting time slot for you, your trail buddy, and – if you want – your “Quaranteam” (your quarantine “pod” that you feel safe with). The current guidelines are below, although these may change as the situation in the County and Commonwealth changes.

Pittsburgh H3 Quarantine Guidelines:
· Hares can sign up for dates using the standard calendar. (Hares will sign up with the Hare Raiser and it is okay to post start neighborhood but not full details).

· Full directions must be in to the Hare Raiser to allow two full days prior for the hashers to sign-up.

· Hares should lay trail planning on at least two days of 1/2 hour start time slots. Days are hare’s choice. For example – lay trail Friday or early Saturday and then hash Saturday/Sunday or lay trail Saturday and hash Sunday/Monday.

· Time slots will begin at hares discretion but should end with enough time to finish before dark.

· Hashers have to sign-up for trail. Hare Raiser will include a sign-up link in the hash event. There will not be a group start time. 1/2 hour time slots will be available.

· Hashers can choose to do trail solo or with a Quaranteam, but a trail buddy is recommended. Quaranteams should be a max of 6-8 people.

· After the hasher signs up, a link will go out via email with the trail location and details. We will not post the exact trail location on the website or FaceBook.

· Only folks who have signed up can add an additional runner to their slot. Do not attempt to crash someone’s time slot. Hounds will post additional team members.

· For contact tracing and safety check-in, hashers must continue to check in when starting the trail and out when finished via Facebook event (or text the hare) to show when they started trail and that they successfully completed it.

· Hares must monitor who signs up and make sure each group signs in and out so they know everyone completed the trail safely.

· Hares must provide their phone number and it will be included in the hash write-up.

· Hares must mark trail in a way that will last at least two full days of hashing – either use ribbon or refresh the flour/chalk each day so the marks are fresh and people can easily follow trail. Remove ribbon after the event. Hounds should not add pack or FRB arrows.

· Considering that there may be a small number of people checking, trails should be well marked and of moderate length (3 to 5 miles), with reasonable checking lengths and clarity.

· Trail difficulty should be considered, treacherous climbs or deep water should be avoided. Trespassing should also be avoided.

· Hashers without Facebook access should team up with someone that can provide sign-up access and trail feedback, or make other plans for communicating with the Hares.

· Hashers should obey the normal social distancing rules if they encounter other Hounds on trail: maintain a six foot distance and wear a mask if passing.

On On!

PITT H3 #220 Crackfiller
Oct 22 @ 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Come out and enjoy yet another (socially distanced) live trail with other half-minds! We figured the last one went pretty great, so we’re at it again! This time around, Crackfiller will be haring for your enjoyment and delight! Two beer stops and circle beer are being provided. Start beer is BYOB. We are collecting hash cash, but we’re super boujee now, so you can either Pay Pal when you sign up or pay cash when you arrive.
We are capping the trail at 50 people, so you must sign up beforehand. The location will be emailed to you after you sign up. Go to this link to sign up: https://docs.google.com/…/1QmrEaUc0Wx24ZhcnVRaSQND…/edit
The safety protocols we put in place are still in effect. You must bring a mask. When you check in at trail, you will get your temperature taken, rectally if you’re lucky. You will be responsible for your own trash–ain’t no one pickin’ up after you! You must use hand sanitizer before grabbing a beer or a snack every time! Don’t be gross! And lastly, keep your distance away from other folks. We know you miss groping each other, but this is just not the time for that. Do you best to stay six feet apart!
