Why: To run a harder, longer trail and enjoy the shit out of it!
You are cordially invited to attend the Darkside’s first every Turkey Trot. You want something to be thankful for this year? Attend trail, and you’ll be thankful to be alive! You’ll also see some parts of the city that you did not even know existed. Finally, you’ll get to ask the question, what the fuck did I ever do to the hare for this to be happening?
The trail will be on the shorter side (for a dark-side), but if you want a twelve miler, we can add a mega- Folker loop, just let us know. Although shorter, there will be some interesting terrain and lots of shiggy. At least half of trail as scouted is unpaved.
There will be at least two beer stops, and maybe a Klaw Quest or two as we want y’all to stay hydrated as well as preferably far behind us.
Couple of things:
Genuine Pub is approximately 1200 feet outside of city limits. Don’t tell mismanagement, I pulled a fast one.
I do not recommend bringing a dog as the terrain seemed rough, but what do I know. I did see a fox running around on shit that looked even worse.
Headlamps/lights are a must.
If we do not get a cold snap, use some Off to prevent ticks. Obviously check yourself after.
Your feet will get wet, so wool socks or the like if it’s cold. Dry shoes for after.
Genuine Pub is open till two, so we should be good for Apres.
Like I said earlier, attend and have a guilt free Thanksgiving. You’ll burn off a lot of calories.
