theme: plagues or religious holiday of your choosing
7th Sporadic running of the Blood Libel trail
Blood li*bel (n) the superstitious accusation that Jews ritually sacrifice Christian children at Passover to obtain blood for unleavened bread.
What does springtime mean to you? Blooming flowers? Allergies? Easter egg hunts? If you were a Christian in the Middle Ages, it meant reminding your friends and family that Jewish people use human blood to make Passover matzo! So be careful out there…
Speaking of being careful, the Blood Libel trail returns this year, and this time we will explore Mckeesport. Passover is about many things, and among them are suffering, plagues, and trekking your way to freedom. We will try to hit all of these themes. For suffering, think about how your legs felt after the last No Code trail you went on. Be ready for plague-themed moments, and feel free to dress as your favorite plague. Or dress as your favorite religious holiday of any sort. If you need help deciding if your costume is culturally appropriate, send one of us a picture (of your costume, pervert!). As for trekking, that goes without explanation.
Bring a vessel to reduce waste. Dogs are ok on trail but not at the start.
