Expect flat pavement, zero shiggy, baby stroller friendly trail, lounge chairs and benches every quarter mile, no ropes, no steep slopes, no jaggers, no poisonous toxic waste, no sharp object debris and no industrial dumping, no construction machinery, no feral shopping carts, no trail treasure, no graffiti, no bridges, no tunnels, no culverts, and no classic hashable terrain trademarks.
Looking for a theme or slogan, while scouting at one point we were faced with an obstacle. “Lets go around, it’s easier”, Norton said. Sherpes replied: “No, lets go straight. It’s harder, yeah, but it’s more fun”. At which point, Norton said: “you are like Kennedy”. Sherpes did not understand. So Norton told the tale of 60 years ago of a US President telling the world that folks were going to the Moon not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard.
