It’s time for everyone’s favorite hash event, FLOAT N’ BLOAT! Take a scenic drive up Route 28, just over an hour north of the Burgh, to K9’s hometown of New Bethlehem and beyond. Bring an inflatable floatation device. I’m going to ask that folks not bring their kayaks because it’s more fun when we are all at the mercy of the current and float at the same speed. If you must bring your kayak, consider yourself no longer my friend.
Camping is available at the Redbank Valley Municipal Park at no additional cost to you. We have rented Pavilion 4. It is on the right as you drive through the park. Look for H3 signage.
What we will provide: Beer on trail, Lunch on trail before the float, Dinner back at the campground, Mountain Pie fixins, Games, Firewood, Salt
What you should bring: Floatation device Inflator (there should be several to use but bring one if you have it), Headlamp if you’re camping, Water shoes, Towel, Dry clothes, Sense of adventure, Cooler, Beer for after trail, Snacks, Camp chair, Tent/sleeping things
Please bring your own small cooler for the float. We will transport your coolers and floats to the put-in location. Do NOT blow up your floatie. We will have time to inflate while eating lunch. Feel free to BYO food and beverages for partying into the night.
This is a family campground (but they have been warned about us) so I ask you all to use your common sense and be respectful! Camping is available Friday night but everything is BYO. The campground is on the Redbank Valley Rail Trail so bring your bike and plan to ride on your own Friday or Sunday. You’re on your own for breakfast both days. Any questions or concerns, contact K9 @ (412) 951-2577.
