What to expect:
Meet outside Church Brew Works
Cum and enjoy cheering on all the r*nners at our marathon beer stop! Some of our own will be out there sweating and working way harder than they should, so let’s show them love by bringing them beer!
Be there at 9:00am. If you’re setting up or are planning to drive your car, you will have to get there before they close the roads (which is pretty damn early).
We’ll need volunteers who can bring the following stuff:
–2 tables to set out all the beer
–2 canopies, so we’re shaded
–small cups to hand out
–tarp and rope to make a makeshift pee place
–signs
–beer
–trash bags
–your own camp chair
You can park on the street next to Church Brew Works. But you must get there very early if you are driving! Don’t forget! Trying to drive will be tough. Here is a story that details road closures. The article has a link for a map of all the closures: https://www.thepittsburghmarathon.com/pages/getting-around-town

“Cheers to the Finish Line: A Hash House Harriers’ Trail of Beer and Relaxation”
Welcome, weary runners, to the trail of blissful recovery! As Hash House Harriers, we know that after conquering the marathon, there’s nothing quite like the sweet reward of a cold beer and a tranquil trail to unwind. Lace up your shoes, grab your mug, and let’s embark on a journey of camaraderie, laughter, and, of course, beer.
Our post-marathon trail is a symphony of scenic beauty and liquid refreshment. Picture lush forests, babbling brooks, and open fields stretching as far as the eye can see. With each step, feel the tension of the race melt away as you immerse yourself in nature’s embrace.
But fear not, dear hashers, for this trail is not about breaking speed records or pushing your limits. No, it’s a leisurely stroll through the countryside, a chance to savor the simple pleasures of life. Take your time, enjoy the scenery, and revel in the company of fellow hashers who understand the true meaning of “work hard, play hard.”
And what better way to celebrate our accomplishment than with a well-deserved beer stop? Picture it: a cozy clearing adorned with blankets, cushions, and, most importantly, an array of ice-cold brews waiting to be savored. Whether you prefer a crisp lager, a hoppy IPA, or a smooth stout, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
As the sun begins to set and the stars emerge overhead, we gather around the fire, swapping stories of triumph and tribulation from the marathon. Laughter fills the air, mingling with the crackle of flames and the clinking of mugs. This is what it means to be a hasher: to embrace the joy of running, the camaraderie of friendship, and the simple pleasure of a good beer.

Knives in May, a throwback to quarantine times. When trail existed for multiple days…you could do it on your own or with a few people. This will be a throwback to those trails. I’ll be laying trail on Friday, and it will be out there all weekend…so whether you have a mothers day thing to do or not….you can do trail Saturday or Sunday (hell, even Friday evening!).
Of course, there will be a normal group hash, which will be on Saturday at 2pm.
